Amazing new placesGeoWhiz is a kid-tested and parent-friendly virtual world where kids can safely explore exciting destinations around the world.
Whether it’s the famous Champs-Élysées in Paris, Medieval Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza, the Mayan ruins and colonial towns of Chiapas in Mexico, or the crowded streets of Hong Kong, you get to visit a new destination each month through your personal and customizable avatar.
With the help of the “GeoWhiz Cast”–Tomas, Min, Jacques, Nandy, Zuma, Tyler and Rani (kids from around the world)—you get to participate in adventures as they guide you through the location, its interactive content, mini-games, and other surprises through “chat sessions.”
You also get to safely connect with other players and explorers across the globe through our “safe chat” dialogues! So, when you see another avatar, click on “him” or “her” and use the pull-down menus to communicate—even if you don’t speak the same language!
Okay, here’s the “official” stuff…
GeoWhiz is “COPPA Compliant”—That means that we comply with the United States Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. In everyday language, it means that no personally identifiable information is ever published, sold, etc., etc. So, when you create and customize your avatar, you can’t use your name…we’ll help you make up a name that is cool and protects you!
We’re also “CARU Compliant”—that’s the Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. This means that GeoWhiz is not full of advertisements that pose as content. You can explore without being bombarded with product placements or having to wait until after a commercial plays before you can play.
